March 3, 2026

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) have activated help desks to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the crisis in the Middle East and their families.

Director Jimmicio Daoaten said affected families can visit the DICT-CAR office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to use internet and computer facilities in getting in touch with their loved ones abroad.

“The Help Desk and Communication Center is now open at DMW-CAR and DICT-CAR offices to provide immediate assistance and free communication support to overseas Filipino Workers affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East,” read the advisory released Monday.

The DMW encouraged affected migrant workers and their families to remain calm and immediately coordinate with the offices for any concerns or emergency assistance.

“We are here to help with any request for assistance. Free internet access, computers and equipment, as well as technical support to connect those affected, will be provided,” the advisory added.

Daoaten said DICT provincial offices in the region have also activated their help desks.

“Do not hesitate to come and we will assist in the best way we can to alleviate worries,” he said.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-CAR Director Dina Ponciano said their agency has the 1348 hotline for assistance. She advised OFWs in the Middle East to abide by the advisories of the Philippine Embassy and local authorities regarding the security situation. (PNA)
